Welcome

The Law Offices of Jan V. Hinson, P.C. are dedicated to serving you and helping you through one of the most difficult times of your life. Divorce is painful no matter what the circumstances. However, your journey through the legal system does not have to be painful. We are committed to helping divorcing people through the legal process in a straight-forward, uncomplicated manner.

Obtaining your Georgia divorce does not have to be an expensive and time-consuming nightmare. The information on this site will guide you through the process with relative ease, including filling out the forms and paying online to help you begin the paperwork for your divorce. We are committed to protecting your privacy and rights while at the same time minimizing the stress and cost in obtaining your divorce.

An uncontested divorce is also the fastest way to obtain a divorce. When you and your spouse agree on all the major issues, you stand a very good chance of obtaining your divorce in as little as eight weeks, including the mandatory thirty-one (31) day waiting period. If the parties are prepared with all the necessary information and the more committed the parties are to settling their issues, the faster and easier their divorce will be.

Though we are based in Fulton County, Georgia, we can handle any Georgia divorce in any county throughout the state. The Typical beginning retainer for a contested divorce is $5,500.00, which purchases twenty (20) hours of Ms. Hinson's time, though the retainer may vary according to your circumstances.  The fee for an uncontested divorce is $499.00 if there are no minor children and $699.00 with minor children plus the filing fee for your county. The filing fees are outlined for you when you begin the process of completing the Divorce Questionnaire. The fees usually range from $80.00 to $90.00.

We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, and AMERICAN EXPRESS.

You will be represented by Jan V. Hinson, a seasoned family law attorney that practices SOLELY in the area of family law in the State of Georgia. Please note, we cannot offer legal advise to the spouse who is not our client. We do, however, encourage them to seek legal advise from another attorney if they have any questions or need additional advise.

There may also be a time where, even though your divorce has been finalized, you would like to make changes to your divorce decree or your ex-spouse is not abiding by the terms of your divorce. We can assist you in asking the Court to enforce or modify your decree. Ms Hinson is highly experienced in child support and visitation modifications that can sometimes become necessary long after a divorce has been granted.
