Why Uncontested?

An uncontested divorce is the fastest and least expensive way to obtain a divorce. When you and your spouse can agree on all the major issues, you stand a very good chance of obtaining your divorce in as little as six to ten weeks, including the mandatory thirty-one (31) day waiting period. Ms. Hinson encourages all divorcing people to try the uncontested route before entering into a contested action. There is no charge to you for you to attempt settlement in this way. Only when you are able to complete your questionnaire and feel confident that you agree on your issues, do you submit your payment to the law firm for the drafting of your documents to begin.

When you are prepared with all the necessary information to make good decisions for your family, this process is the best way to handle your divorce. Remember that you and your spouse, especially if you have children together, will be seeing each other at least periodically throughout the rest of your lives. (Weddings, Graduations, Grandchildren's Births, Recitals). Though you may have hurt or bad feelings about each other at this time, the more committed you are to settling your issues without this process becoming nasty, the easier and more pleasant your divorce and your future will be.
